Idle Looks: A Curious Interview

PLUG:  Hey. Can I ask you a question?

MAN:  Yeah.

PLUG:  How often do you look at the car next to you?

MAN:  [shrugs] I don't know.

PLUG:  You don't know? Okay.

PLUG:  Hey. How's it going?

MAN:  Hey. What's up?

PLUG:  When you guys are stopped at a red light, how frequently do you look at the other car?

MAN:  Ten percent of the time.

PLUG:  Ten percent? All right. Thanks.

PLUG:  When you're at a red light, how frequently do you look at the other car?

MAN:  Huh?

PLUG:  When you're at a red light, how frequently do you look at the other car?

MAN:  What do you mean?

PLUG:  Like right now, you're looking at me. How frequently do you think you look at the other car?

MAN:  I don't know.

PLUG:  Okay. Thanks for your help.

PLUG:  You know how when you're stopped at a red light and you're not looking at the car next to you...

WOMAN:  Right.

PLUG:  Do you think that's because people are trying to be polite or do you think [people] just don't care.

WOMAN:  Uh. You mean when they don't look at you?

PLUG:  When they don't look at you.

WOMAN:  Oh. That could go either way. Maybe they have something on their mind. Their thoughts are somewhere else. Don't take it personally.

PLUG:  Okay I won't. Thanks. Green light!
