Hall of Costumes: Cigarette Vending Machine |

This is a box. I think I got the box at the liquor store. If not, then I got it out of the trash, perhaps at the liquor store. Basically, go to the liquor store. If they don't have boxes, buy some whiskey and talk to the management about how they should provide more boxes. |

With my parent's permission, I cut the front of the box that would eventually display the packs of cigarettes and the parts of the vending machine where you insert money, collect your change, and push the door to retrieve the cigarettes. |

Unlike that one bike, I made sure to spray paint the box in a well-ventilated area. |

I don't smoke cigarettes, nor do I want to incur the expense of giving away free cigarettes. Luckily, I remembered that people distribute candy at Halloween. I ordered these candy cigarettes online. A total of seventy-two packs were purchased for about twelve dollars. |

Empty candy cigarette boxes were taped to the inside of a display case so that they would show from the outside. |

The display area is, uh, displayed. When a person deposits money into the coin feeder, the same money automatically drops into the coin return. Cute, right? I'm not out to make a buck. I just want people to have a good time, except for that one jackass who dressed as Johnny from The Karate Kid. I kept his money. |

I was the only person to wear a costume to work that day. I thought that might lead to a raise, but no dice. I forgot to take a picture of the costume's sleeve mechanics, but essentially, there is a large hole cut on each side with cloth draped to hide the holes. This allowed me to retract my arms into the costume so that I could drop a pack of candy cigarettes into the push door receptacle. |

The final step, and this is very important, is to get a pretty lady on your arm. That way, even if a person isn't impressed with your costume, then you at least give him or her something nice to look at. |
